But it's not like I could do anything to stop him from going. It's all in a day's work. So I did the only thing I can... I prayed for his safety. And lo and behold!... his boss orders him not to go. I guess my prayer was on the fast track this time and just as well.
I thought about that a bit and here's what crept up on me. If God's answer in keeping Papa safe is to keep him right where he's at, does that mean this war thing is bound to go beyond borders?... enough to make international travel unsafe? After all, God is looking at the whole picture, right? Heaven forbid! Maybe we all should start praying real hard.
You know, if the war comes on (and by all counts it's a given) and we survive it for another peaceful day in the end, this is what I'll pray for. I'll pray that Walt Disney comes back to life and becomes the next American President. And then I'll pray that Homer Simpson gets elected as the next Iraqi President (if they even have elections over there). So instead of gifting Iraq with gunfire, he'll gift them with cute and funny pictures. And what push-over like Homer would be able to resist that? It's gonna be a Disney World!
I know this is far-fetched but you know what they say... with faith as small as a grain of sand...
Message from God: 'Don't push it Jet!'
