I don't even have words to describe how I feel. Would it suffice to say that at one point during the show, my eyes smarted with tears I held back, so taken with emotion over the fact that I was there? No matter what adjective I give... whether it be awesome, quintessential, phenomenal and no matter if I say that he took live performance high up to an exponential level... it wouldn't do justice to what transpired at the Honda Center last night.
How could I describe the pandemonium as he came out in total darkness, ran through his signature, 'Ah-one! Two! Ah-one, two, three, bam!,' as he began Light of Day for his opening...
Or make you feel the total surrender as we rocked through Radio Nowhere, Murder Incorporated, Reason to Believe, Working on the Highway and The Rising...
Or how we all swayed or did our own little shindig to Lonesome Day, Magic, Last to Die, Gypsy Biker and Long Walk Home...
Or illustrate the silence as we listened to The Ghost of Tom Joad, which he did with the equally incredible,Tom Morello, the Nightwatchman himself, of Rage Against the Machine, with nothing less than utmost reverence...
Or the sensation as the audience became one clapping in rhythm to Livin' in the Future or singing wo-ho-ho-ho-hoh to Badlands?
How can I give you a taste of the air, dark and thick with anticipation, each person in the audience stunted with bated breath, as we tried to beckon him back to the stage with the light from our mobile phones?
And how do I express our glee when he did come back and sang the misleadingly playful Girls in Summer Clothes, the classic Rosalita, Born to Run which predictably brought the house down, Out in the Street which is a rarity, and finally, American Land to which I did the Irish jig almost by instinct?
I have decided that in my next life, I will become a Springsteen groupie.
And my signature shirt will say, 'JUST ANOTHER BRUCE TRAMP!'
I will wear it everyday for as long as I live.

salamat sa pagbisita sa blog.. dahil sa yo nag post pa uli ako ng isa pang amor moments, fresh from this morning! hahaha
hello kay uncle jay.... see him soon!
Oo nga Pa, who would have thought, di ba? It was certainly the best! I am so happy. :D
Labyu too!
wow! a live concert with Springsteen as star! only in my dreams. :) glad you had fun!
Yes! Yes, we sure had fun! Thank you. :D
Well, you'll never know Dr_Clairebear. Dati pangarap din lang namin, but now we've gone to our 2nd Springsteen concert. Sabi nga ni da boss, 'at the end of a hard-earned day people find some reason to believe...'
WoW!
The Boss!
hehe.. last Springsteen concert I remember was the "Born in the USA" tour of 86 (or was it 85) in Oakland.
hehe... napapalabas tuloy edad ko.
Anyway, rocker girl ka pala. hehe.
Wow, that's your 2nd Springsteen concert in less than year, right? Awesome! My fave is "Born in the U.S.A" mainly because of Max Weinberg's drumming. :)
Jobert, '85? Springsteen would have been a LOT younger then and more energetic. Not that he's less of a kick-ass performer these two concerts that we've been to except that he has shorter encores... hehe.
Gosh, I can listen to him all night! :)
That's right c. We were thinking, he's nearing 60 and who knows when he's coming out with an album again, right? We were so surprised to find that he was coming back to SoCal on the 2nd leg of his Magic tour that we just went up and grabbed the chance. Boy are we glad we did!
I loved Weinberg too. And Clemons. And that's because I love the drums and the sax better than the guitar. But then Morello was just awesome that night!
ayus! isa sa mga panaginip ko rin yang si Da Boss...di ko nga kayang maisip na noong bata pa ako, makapanood ng mga live concert...ngayon they're here in front of us, breathing the same air...
Exactly, Junnie! Ngayon nga, I'm taking my dreams a notch higher. Next time na panoorin namin si da boss, gusto ko sana dun na kami sa paanan ng stage, matalsikan man lang ng pawis niya... hahaha!
Bruce is so lucky to have you as a fan making him beautiful in other's eyes... :)
well... I don't know about him being lucky that way Mec but sure as eggs is eggs, the pleasure is all mine :D
:D you are indeed a true fan; evident in this effusive post. You are so lucky to have seen him live in concert. What an experience that must have been. ~ JMom
Naku JMom, if you read the write-ups on his website, some fans have seen him for like 7 times and more! Hindi talaga siya nakakasawang panoorin. He gives his audience what they came in to see and in that he gives them respect. Kaya naman mahal na mahal siya ng mga fans niya, and I am so glad to be one of them.
