Last weekend, we went over to San Diego for the 11th Annual Rock n' Roll Marathon, which incidentally is Papa Jay's first ever full-length marathon. 26.2 miles, man! I was only there as supporting cast but the experience was for me every bit as exhilarating and in the end, I am again every bit as proud.
The following day, we went on a sight-seeing tour of Old Town San Diego. I did an extensive pictography of the trip on my Flickr site so for your viewing pleasure, may I direct you to it instead. This is special for me for 2 reasons. First, it is my first pictography (as you will see, I did some extensive research to give you a sense of the history we relished in). And second, this is my first time to try my hand at photoshopping. Those who know me would know that I have the propensity to steer clear of all things technical. Somehow, with this batch of pictures, I found my inspiration to learn.
I tried them in at least 3 pictures of Papa Jay's, in the court house, in a couple of rooms in Seeley's stables and in all the rooms of the Casa de Estudillo. They were all either dark or vague, with all sorts of shadows making my eyes cross so bad I just had to fix them and attempt to make the imperfections blend in since I can't get rid of them altogether. I also did a black and white copy of my own photo.
Hope you have time to enjoy the pictures! Just one thing... do be kind.

Nakita ko yung Flickr pics nung visit nyo with Tintin and Mina.
Looks like you're having a great life out there, Jet. Stay happy. :)
Very nice pictures and thanks for sharing them. :)
I fell in love with San Diego from the very first time I went there in late 2005. Loved the weather and that part of the city that's by the water (by Harbor Boulevard)kind of reminds me of Manila's Roxas Boulevard.
I've been there several times since but unfortunately, all have been business trips, and thus due to time constraints, I have never had the chance to visit Old San Diego. I'm seeing parts of it for the first time through your photos. Thanks again.
very artistic ang shots ateng! congratulations! pang brochure :)
bcat, I know who you are. why did you delete your message? you're right, it's been a long time. and I miss you. bookmarked your new site, until I can get Papa Jay to link it back. thank you for getting in touch with me.
hi ate jet! great pics. it makes me want to visit those places.
well done on your first attempts at photoshopping. mahirap ba? i want to learn din kasi eh.
hahaha! Connie, sabi ni Papa kaya daw nagugusot yung mukha nung bata e dahil napopogian sa kanya. I don't know how that works but that's what he says... heh.
Yes, it's a good life, considering and I am thankful. Happy na rin ako but you know how it could always be great still?... hehe :)
thanks c! minsan, pang-destress, I imagine how it would be if we lived right in the heart of downtown San Diego. I really wouldn't mind an apartment, it will almost be like living in San Francisco. hahaha! bakit ba ganun, anywhere else seems to be a great place to live except where you do? :)
It's mutual Den. When I look at the pictures you take in your travels, I also dream of someday visiting those places. :)
I never thought I'd be able to say this pero alam mo, madali lang ang photoshop, well... at least yung calibre ng kaya kong gawin with the picnik photoshop that's available at Flickr, madali lang. I think you just have to have an idea of how you want the picture to look and then you can start playing with the settings hanggang makuha mo siya. Try it, it's so much fun! :)
hi rhea! salamat! o di ba, educational... hehe :)
sister...antyaga mo! :)
great shots but I am more impressed with the tyaga because that is something I am too lazy talaga to do, to put notes with the pics I upload :)
mukhang pati si Spiderman nag-enjoy :D
beautiful shots, Jet! :-)
napaview ako bigla ng flickr account ko and i wish have the time to experiment/explore like what you did. ang galing mo naman!
they were very nice pics, jet and i appreciate you sharing them, para tuloy akong nakapasyal sa sd! i wish i could do those thing on my pictures na nakatambak dito sa pc ko.
have a great day!
Thanks Mec. As much as I would like to revel on the complement sis, actually simple lang siya. Cut and paste lang naman from the tour sites, kaya nga I provided the links. The thing is, I really liked doing it cause I thought it was a more concrete way of sharing something I enjoyed so much.
hi Nick! thanks for the time to view the pictures. well, like I said, I liked doing it and that's probably how I managed to do it. nothing exceptional there, but thanks. :)
Thanks, Dang. I hope you find the time to do it. It's fun! Now I'm looking forward to fix them on my flickr. :)
