Last Saturday, Papa and I went to town for some errands. Just a thought: If you have some errands to do that you're not really gung-ho about, intersperse it with things that you really like doing, or that you're even looking forward to, and the whole endeavor will take a more favorable appeal all over.
So after the errands, we set out to buy this.
I've been wanting to for the longest time. See, last year, I bought a pirated CD at a pasar malam and for the most part, I've been content with it. (Incidentally, a pasar malam is like a roving tiangge that goes around the city state year round, mostly during the latter months.) But lately, I've been downloading things for it and either because it's pirated or because it's just the original version with no expansion packs to adorn it, I find that a lot of the things I'm able to download are not compatible with it. Sometimes I wouldn't be able to extract them for the game, or if I'm able to, they would disappear when I run the game. Even worse, they'd crash my game! Now, the downloads are working like a breeze and I'm so much into them, I'm not sure which is more fun, playing the game or doing the downloads... heh. (Incidentally, again, I've downloaded a wicker chair which you can buy for $50. After 24 hours, it's value shoots up to a whopping $32,000. If anyone wants it, send me an email and I'll send you the file.)
Anyway, Papa didn't come home empty handed himself. He bought this. It too is an all-consuming game and like my game, you really have to struggle with discipline so that you don't end up playing it well into the morning and get wasted for the day. I've played a similar game before and I really like the build and develop part but then they'd attack me and I'd have to go to war with them and I really hate that. So, nothing gives.
When we got home that day, he stationed himself at the desktop, I at the laptop, and in unison, we immersed ourselves into our own two separate worlds. We had the tv on, although neither one of us watched it. It was just for company cause the house was really quiet. We weren't talking to each other although every now and then I would get up and offer him a cup of coffee or a cold drink, and he'd get up to see if my game was running well. It was companionable silence in perfect state.
We didn't get to go to bed until 5 am, and by this time, the ac's been running for hours. When I opened the bedroom door and the cold blast hit me, I asked myself... tell me again why we're together. I freeze at 15 degrees and he.... he perspires like it was 50. Funny that I should even wonder. He's said so himself, he was born in the wrong country. But then, who cares about the cold? I'll just let him warm me up.
I think it was a good day and I can't wait for the weekend to come so we could do this all over again. Thank God for small graces.
