Isn't it such a big irony, time is always of the essence, and yet it's the very thing which we cannot ever have enough of? It's been over a week since I last blogged. Anyway, you can read up on our activities for the whole of last week on fafa Jay's blog.
FUN NIGHT AT LEAH'S
The weekend before my in-laws arrived, we spent Saturday night at Leah's. It was a casual night organized by Cherrie but to me it seems like it was the most fun I've had since January. Of course, my weekends with fafa Jay are always fun and pleasant, the quiet fun I look forward to as the week draws to an end. But this was loud fun, hilarious fun, fun in the company of other Pinoys making a life here in Singapore.
Cherrie made menudo which I really liked, although I was nitpicking on the meat part cause I don't really eat liver... heh. Leah cooked adobo, Cecille made veggies, and Daphne brought the drinks. Because we were busy preparing for my in-laws' visit, we weren't able to bring anything save for KFC fried chicken... at least they were all either breasts or drumsticks. That was really nice cause nobody had to do extra effort to put food on the table... the work went around, and so did the fun.
The girls played pictionary, which was the first time I played ever. I really had a good time. Below are some pics that Reg and Cherrie very generously shared with me to put up on this blog because unfortunately, fafa Jay and I forgot our camera.

But the whole night was just a lot of fun...

FUN NIGHT AT FORT CANNING
The following Saturday, the weekend of my in-laws' visit, fafa Jay and I had to leave them to their own designs for the night cause we were going to a concert... a rock concert... my second rock concert!
It was held at Fort Canning Park, an open air venue, and the band was Deep Purple on their Asian Bananas Tour.
It was a nice concert... very bright, very loud... heh. They had this practice of turning on the spotlights toward the audience when the drums were banging the loudest. On those times, I couldn't see anything and it's gotten so that I almost couldn't hear anything either. I thought I was having palpitations for 2 hours! hehe... But it was a warm, clear night, we were out sitting on the grass, watching the band, watching the people, holding hands, swaying together... I don't really care if there are only a couple of songs familiar to me. I look at fafa Jay and saw he was enjoying himself immensely. Personally, I liked the Rolling Stones concert better, the one we watched last March. I knew more of their songs, for one thing, and there was more dancing to it besides.
But fafa Jay was happy. That was enough for me.
Oh, we didn't take the camera with us because we knew for a fact that they are a no-no at concerts. But guess what, every third person at the concert that night probably had one. Oh well...
