Whoopsie daisy! Sorry I have to do this again... teehee!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ATE LANI!
Ate Lani is third in the brood, eldest of the girls. I'm not going to expose the nitty gritty details of her life on the internet because she's a very private person and she might not welcome the idea.
Ate, if you ever get to read this, I just want you to know that I love you very much and like I do for the whole family, I think the world of you. Also, I'd like to chronicle this event. After all, how many times will a person be 44 years old? Ang tanda mo na... hehe.
MANILENA
I've featured Ate Sienna's web design site even before it was completely up. I've been so excited about this project, knowing how much this means to my dear friend. I know how much work went into its fruition, how much thought and painstaking effort went into each concept and design, how many hours she tried to stretch her days by to get the site up and working.
And now it's done. It's all yours for the asking. And for how much? Totally none. My site is one of the very first recepients of this lady's expertise. If you like Deja Brew, there's more where it came from.
Ateng, congratulations! The designs are so beautiful and I am one proud friend.
GENTING
I think I must blog about this, just so Papa doesn't forget... hehe.
Next week, we're off to Genting, Malaysia for a hopefully, totally relaxing weekend. We both need it bad. I know we've just been to the Phils for a vacation but 'relaxing' is not exactly all that happened.
I'm trying to work it out with our travel agent right this minute. A midnight run on a Friday night, 24 hours of doing just what we feel like (which will presumably involve taking lots of pictures) and back to reality on Sunday.
Papa's foremost concern... that the bus be one where we can lie down smack on our backs during the trip.
AMERICAN IDOL
Watched the season finale last night on Star World cause I missed the live telecast in the Phils. It was a good show and Fantasia was obviously the winner from day 1.
Everybody seemed to sing so well, now that the jitters were gone. Reminds me of what Carmela said in her blog about competitions: 'Competition is such a hard teacher because it gives the test first then the lesson afterwards.'
I heard they're coming up with a Pinoy Idol in the Phils. Tsk! Too bad I'm back in Singapore... heehee!
ECCENTRICITY
Read this annecdote by Dennis de Haan in Our Daily Bread:
I heard that Albet Einstein was the featured speaker at a dinner given at Swarthmore College. When it came time for him to speak, he astonished everyone by standing up and announcing, 'I have nothing to say.' Then he sat down.
A few moments later he stood up and added, 'In case I have something to say, I will come back and say it.' Six months later, he sent a message to the president of the college: 'Now I have something to say.' Another dinner was held and he gave his speech.
Golly gee! Fame does afford tolerance for people's eccentricities. Too bad it doesn't work the other way around... be eccentric first and famous later. It could have been my only claim to fame.
HAPPY WEEKEND EVERYONE!
