BETTER LATE THAN NEVER

It's all over the internet, on the sites of those who made it on the night of the 3rd. I feel it would be quite redundant to post pictures and talk about it so I'm here just to say my thank you's.

But not without saying how much I enjoyed that night though. It was terrific! I guess there's really something about establishing bonds with first time acquaintances in small groups that beats large groups hands down. Not for anything else but just that there are fewer people to get to know and one doesn't fall into the trap of spreading oneself too thin. But then, I did get to meet a lot of bloggers, most of whom have been friends for quite some time, so Dec. 30 for me was also a winner. I just wish I was able to interact more extensively with everyone, like what happened on Jan. 3.

So anyway...

D, it was so nice touching base with you again. When you didn't come on the 30th, I thought we'd have missed the chance. Thank you so much for making it. Meeting up with you again is one more patch that completes my holiday.

Tito Rolly, what can I say? You were the man that night! I know a lot of people have come to love fafa Jay's site because he makes them laugh. But then, you made the joker laugh so I don't know what to make of that... hahaha! Next time around... there should be a next time around. I haven't laughed so much for so long.

Mari, I know we're of the same heart... full of sentiments, trying to make sense of the things around us and within us, but that night took it one step further. I didn't know you could laugh as hard as I could... hehe. That was such a welcome revelation and I'm only too glad we had the chance.

Toni, since we started emailing each other a few months back, I've been wanting to meet you in person. I missed the chance on the 30th and I am so glad and grateful that you made it the second time around. You were so much who you are in your emails... charming, sweet, warm. Simply nice. And it was a sure treat to have met H too. Now there's more life and color to everything you've shared with me in your emails. Thank you.

Bong K, I suppose you know by now how much we have in common... hobby (blogging), habit (uhrrmmm), we're both hobos back from somewhere, we both love writing stories, and we both laugh till our eyes trickle with tears. I didn't get to know that last one the first time we met so you can see how happy I am that there was this second time.

Doc Emer, you too were a revelation to me that night. Prior to meeting you, you were to me this serious, no nonsense professional that I decided right on I couldn't mess with. And then it turns out that yes, it's alright to mess with you... hehe. And it came as a total surprise to me. But meeting you with your soulmate Jane, I was able to see you in the right perspective. I mean, with Jane being Jane, it wouldn't have made sense if you were this all-serious guy. She's so much fun, all sparkling eyes and giggly smiles, and blogger or no blogger, she has earned her place in my heart, as you have.

Dindin, you too were absolute fun, there was never a dull moment with you there. I love how you were able to talk about anything under the sun and how you were all over the place taking pictures of us with your very impressive camera. I felt so special posing for you... hehe. It's just so sad that you had to go too soon. In my mind, I was trying to imagine if you were able to join us at Starbucks, it would have been a total riot!

Melissa, I missed you that night. I was so looking forward to spending time with you again after the 30th. But hey, it's alright and I do understand. If I didn't, all those months we've been emailing each other almost everyday would have been a total waste of time. We're friends and something like this doesn't really crack a chip in the wall where friendship is concerned, now does it? You just take it easy, ok?

Papa, I'm not sure I should include you in this list. I've been spending the last 16 years of my life thanking you for the laughter, the fun times, the good life, the love. Well, okay, this is just one night among the rest but I guess it wouldn't have been the same if you weren't there. I love how it feels like you've always been in my life.

If I didn't make my 'joy list' in chronological order, this night would have been #1.

"It's in the simplest existence,in the humblest company and in the emptiest moments that I learned to appreciate what I had... and find happiness right where I was. I didn't have to reach far and dream big. One can only be as big as one sees oneself. The world will always be bigger still... and God, even more."
