SCRAPS FROM WINTER'S TABLE


'Cold' has taken on a totally different dimension for me. It is nice to know how it feels to sleep on a warm bed again.

I thought I understood it before, how it feels to be alone in a room full of people. Now I think I understand it more. And somewhere at the back of my mind, I am reminded of how quietly pleasant it is to be in a room with just one other person, and be certain that it's all the company I really need.

Today, I am enjoying the sunshine, welcoming its heat and basking in its radiance. Not so long ago, I remember how I used to detest it.

How a little kindness really goes a long, long way when given to someone who's a long, long way from home. When my time comes, I hope I would be able to afford being kind to someone too.

It takes a whole lot of loneliness if loneliness would kill you. I believe that somehow, man's better instinct is to adapt and survive.

My first taste of spring is coming near.
