They have nice furniture, I'll give that to them, but they leave a lot to be asked where service is concerned.
We went to their showroom in Irvine last August to buy some that I saw on their website. All went well and I thought the sales clerk who assisted us was really nice. They couldn't, however, bring everything over in one delivery due to the availability (or unavailability) of the goods. 'Fine,' I said, 'shouldn't be any problem with that.'
Or so I thought.
The first delivery was right on schedule... the mattress and temporary bedframe, because the bedframe I ordered wasn't available yet. So was the second delivery, the living room couch.
Then started all my trouble. Apparently, the cocktail tables I ordered were not available in their warehouse when I bought them and would have to be ordered from God knows where, something that the sales clerk did not explicitly tell me. They gave me a 2-week waiting period. That was a month after we purchased the furnitures, and I couldn't budge them, not even if I showed them how upset I was.
And then came a series of letters, each one apologizing for yet another delay and giving me another delivery date. I think I've had 5 of these letters, coming in within a week of each other. I never even bothered to call them anymore cause I didn't want to get even more upset than I already was.
Last week, somebody from their office left a message on our machine saying that the goods were available and that they were ready to deliver that Saturday. I wasn't available that Saturday so I asked it to be moved the following day. 'No problem, I'm changing the date right now.' That's what the store manager told me.
An hour after my call, I got an automated call from them confirming the Saturday delivery date. So naturally I chose to cancel it cause I've rescheduled it with the store. I was expecting to find a message on my machine when I came back Saturday evening, informing me of the time window for the delivery and didn't find any. So I called them up again the following morning to ask about it, only to be told that when I cancelled the Saturday delivery, I've cancelled all succeeding dates as well. Apparently, what I should have done was to ignore the call. How, may I ask, was I supposed to know what was going on in their system, enough to have responded to that call properly???
So having messed up that date, we rescheduled again. For today.
Yesterday afternoon, I received a call from them informing me of the time window. They said between 4 and 7 pm. I did think that was kinda' late. It was a Friday evening after all and we would have had to turn down something, if ever, to accommodate them. But fine, since nothing was up, no problem. So I planned my day. I planned to clean up the living room so when the tables are delivered, I'd have the room ready. I was taking my sweet time because they said they were coming at 4pm. That was a lot of time.
And then they called me up in the morning to inform me... yes, inform me, not ask... that they will be delivering my tables earlier than scheduled because several stops have been cancelled and the driver would be done with the other deliveries ahead of time. I said no, I wasn't ready to accept the delivery and I have already planned my day around the time window they gave me.
I thought that was enough. But no. The driver called me asking me the same thing. I told him, 'No. I've gone by the schedule you gave me and I wouldn't really want to upset my itinerary just to accommodate you. I am not ready to accept the delivery until 4pm so please don't call me again about this.'
You think that did it? Hell, no. Somebody called me a third time, telling me the same thing, even asking me if there is a neighbor who could accept the delivery on my behalf. Gosh!
What is wrong with these people? They won't accommodate customers demands and then expect the same customers to move heaven and earth so they can have their way? When I wanted my furniture, I couldn't budge them to deliver it to me. They gave me all sorts of reasons like manufacturing problems and stuff that puts them out of responsibility. So they couldn't even put a cap on the delays and guarantee me a delivery date. Now they wanted me to turn my day around because they got all these time on their hands and nothing to deliver?
Well tough luck. But as it happens, I'm tougher!
